Build real skills on real matters. The Law Office of Jason Carr Summer Associate Program gives law students and business students the opportunity to do meaningful work from day one — not busy work, not observation, but direct contributions to active client matters and firm initiatives.
Our program runs 8–10 weeks each summer and is designed around two core principles: every associate gets genuine hands-on experience, and every associate leaves with professional skills they can’t get in a classroom. Whether you’re drafting an IRS response or developing a go-to-market strategy for a specialized legal practice, you’ll own your work and see its impact.
We offer two tracks — one for law students, one for business and marketing students — and both operate under the same philosophy: small teams, direct mentorship, and work that matters.
What to Expect
Every Summer Associate receives:
- A dedicated onboarding experience including a self-paced training course covering professional development fundamentals and track-specific skills, so you’re ready to contribute from your first week
- Direct mentorship from firm leadership with regular one-on-one check-ins, real-time feedback, and open-door access — not layers of hierarchy between you and the people making decisions
- Meaningful project ownership — Legal Associates work on active client matters across tax resolution, tax planning, audit defense, and more. Business Associates own defined strategic projects with measurable deliverables.
- Cross-track collaboration through joint learning sessions, shared exposure to both the legal and business sides of a professional services firm, and a cohort experience designed to expand your perspective beyond your own discipline
- A structured evaluation process with a formal mid-program review and comprehensive final evaluation, giving you concrete professional feedback you can carry into your next role
This is a small program by design. With 3–5 associates each summer, you won’t get lost in a crowd. You’ll get reps.
